An avid footprint on the Australian underground music scene, John Baptiste and his sounds have evolved with the country for over a decade - now residing somewhere between a dark progressive and psychedelic infused techno aura. It all began in the world of rock music, with drums being the original weapon of choice. The year was 2005 - and in between the gigs and gruelling hours of band practice, John started to experiment with electronic music production and sound design. After a couple of years, his music begun to gain traction, and in 2008 John was picked up by local Melbourne-based labels Freakshow Disco and SuckMusic. Since then and along his journey, John has released on a number of imprints including Jump To This, Vinyl pusher, Xelon, Fan fare, Generation records, Recovery collective ans Open records In 2012, John and Alex Sasha came together to create the Techno outfit ‘Khatapillah’. The duo was formed to create a live act that would encompass their collective passions for music. Together they had many original releases and remixes on labels such as Ugenius, SmashBang and Analog Recordings. The strong passion and devotion for music is something that John will always pursue, with a constant burn to improve on his skills in and out of the studio.
